For the very first time, the trade had the chance to put their joinery skills to the test by taking on the Jigtech Challenge! The competition launching at Professional Builder’s Tool Fair in Harrogate, drew in crowds of people from every sector of the trade over the two day event.
The Jigtech challenge is simple, each participant is provided with all the tools from the Jigtech system in order to correctly fit a set of door handles in the quickest time possible. The incentive of knowing that the quickest time over the event would see the winner go through to the final of the competition for the chance to win a Honda CBR 650F, meant many excelled with the best time beaten over and over.
After a fierce competition spanning across the two days and with only a few hours remaining, Brett Neasham stepped up to the plate and completed the challenge in an astonishing 1 minute and 39 seconds, beating the record score which was previously set by his brother, they clearly have joinery in their blood! Brett has now progressed to the final and is in with a chance of winning the grand prize, which will be held in 2017.
Brett’s record time really empathises how dramatically the new Jigtech cuts down traditional fitting times. Turning a 30-minute job into one that can be easily completed in 5 minutes or less.
If you weren’t at the Harrogate show then fear not, you’ll have another chance to take the challenge and beat Brett’s time. The Jigtech challenge will be on the road for the next few months with attendance at ‘The Build Show’ already confirmed and several Pro Builder Live events booked in 2017.
